A nationally recognized geriatric care manager, consultant, professor, and panelist, Doctor Somers owns and operates a private geriatric care management practice in New York City.Doctor Somers graduated with honors from City College in New York, and received a master of science degree in recreation therapy from Lehman College in New York; she received a Ph.D. in human and organizational development with specialization in gerontology, retirement, and special populations from the Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. Doctor Somers is also trained as a New York State Nursing Home Administrator and was the Director of the professional geriatric care management certificate program at Hunter College’s Brookdale Center on Aging. Doctor Marion Somers has spent the last thirty years as an elder care specialist, dispensing strategies and advice to make life easier for both caregivers and aging loved ones.
